Spraying

Starch is used as an internal bonding strength improvement for spray application to paper substrates. This technique, which is intermediate between, wet end addition and surface sizing is an economical way to enhance the strength of paper. “Sago Industries Limited” has developed the modified tapioca starch special for spraying application. Under our recommended operational condition, this starch could bond completely between the paper layers.

Starch spraying is a state-of-the-art technology which improves the properties of paper or board by spraying a slurry of uncooked starch granules with water on the web and subsequently gelatinized by heat at the dryer section of the machine.
